The 5 Promises I Made to Bardibas — And Where We Stand Today

The 5 Promises I Made to Bardibas — And Where We Stand Today

Two years ago, I stood in Bardibas and made five specific commitments. Today, I'm publishing a transparent scorecard — because accountability isn't optional, it's the foundation of trust.

Accountability in Nepali politics is often treated as a luxury. I believe it should be a standard. When I addressed the people of Bardibas two years ago, I didn't offer vague assurances — I made five concrete, measurable promises. Here's an honest assessment of where we stand.

Promise 1: Clean Drinking Water for Every Ward

Status: 78% Complete

Through coordination with the provincial government and UNICEF Nepal, we've installed 156 new tube wells and 12 community water purification systems. Eight wards still lack reliable access, primarily in flood-prone areas where infrastructure requires elevated construction techniques. Target completion: Baisakh 2083.

Promise 2: Paved Road Connecting Bardibas to Highway

Status: Complete ✓

The 14-kilometer stretch of road was completed in Kartik 2082. This single improvement has reduced travel time to the East-West Highway from 2 hours to 25 minutes, opening up market access for over 15,000 farming families.

Promise 3: Secondary School in Ward 7

Status: Under Construction

Land acquisition was the primary challenge, resolved through community donation. Construction began in Poush 2082. The school will serve approximately 400 students from Wards 5, 6, and 7 who currently walk over 5 kilometers to the nearest secondary school.

Promise 4: Youth Employment Center

Status: 60% Complete

The center building is operational, but we're still working on partnerships with training providers. We've already placed 89 young people in skill development programs. The full vision includes a computer lab, vocational training wing, and job placement cell.

Promise 5: Community Health Post Upgrade

Status: Complete ✓

The Bardibas health post now operates 24/7 with a birthing center, laboratory services, and two resident health professionals. Annual patient visits have increased from 3,200 to 11,800.

"This is how politics should work — promises made, progress tracked, and results shared openly."

I'm not publishing this scorecard because the numbers are perfect. I'm publishing it because the people of Bardibas deserve to know exactly where their representative stands. Transparency isn't a campaign slogan — it's a daily practice.
