Quick Facts
The Journey of Service
Born and raised in the heartland of Mahottari, Province No. 2, Ajay Kumar Jha grew up witnessing the challenges faced by ordinary people — limited access to healthcare, inadequate educational facilities, and a political system that often overlooked the voices of the Madheshi community. These early experiences planted the seeds of a lifelong commitment to public service.
Driven by a passion for improving lives, Ajay pursued a Master's in Public Health (MPH), equipping himself with the knowledge and skills needed to address the health crises plaguing his community. His academic journey sharpened his understanding of how systemic change — not just charity — could transform the lives of millions.
In 2009, Ajay joined the Madhesi movement, inspired by the call for equal representation, identity, and justice for the people of the Terai-Madhesh region. He became an active voice in demanding federalism, proportional representation, and the recognition of Madheshi rights within Nepal's evolving political landscape.
Throughout his career, Ajay has championed three core pillars: health, education, and federalism. He has organized over 30 free health camps serving more than 200,000 people, advocated for better school infrastructure benefiting thousands of students, and pushed for meaningful implementation of federal governance that empowers local communities.
What sets Ajay apart is his ground-level engagement. He doesn't just speak about policy from podiums — he walks through villages, listens to mothers worried about their children's health, sits with farmers struggling for irrigation access, and works alongside youth seeking better opportunities. His approach is rooted in empathy, data, and relentless action.
Ajay's vision for Nepal is one where every citizen — regardless of caste, region, or economic status — has access to quality healthcare, education, and the democratic tools to shape their own future. Through PSP Nepal, he continues to build bridges between communities, advocate for the marginalized, and work toward a more equitable and prosperous nation.
"True politics is not about power — it is about the courage to serve the last person in the last village with the same dignity as the first."
